After working out Amber Harris and Ta'Shia Phillips today in individual workouts, we thought we would share with you our "4 P's of Post Play"... we try to use as many words that begin with "p" as possible in our system.

1. Position
2. Presentation
3. Possession
4. Play

We will cover each of the 4 more in depth in following posts.

POSITION is in reference to the various spots on the court that we try to establish an advantage over our opponents.

PRESENTATION is our attention to detail on making our post players appear to be open and ready to receive entry pass

POSSESSION is receiving the pass in a position to move on to #4... you will hear us say POSSESSION over POSITION a lot.

PLAY is our term for finishing. Go make a play. Be a player.

Over the next week we will cover each of the 4 P's more in depth.

Amber Harris State Farm All-American

Congratulations to junior Amber Harris on being named to the 2010 State Farm All-American Team.

Opening Day

We are up and running with the Xavier Hoops blog. Will be working on the bells and whistles this week and also re-posting some of the archives from our email newsletter that this blog is replacing. We welcome all tips, hints, and ideas that anyone has for us. We truly are underclassmen when it comes to this technology. But we all look forward to exchanging ideas to help our program. Another clear example of how we as coaches must grow since we are in a profession where we age daily but our players always stay the same age!!!
